    मनुष्य में पाँच ज्ञानेन्द्रियाँ पायी जाती हैं– कान, आँख, नाक, जीभ, तथा त्वचा

    1. कान-कान को श्रवणेन्दिय कहा जाता है। कान सुनने तथा शरीर का संतुलन बनाने में सहायक होते हैं।
    2. आँख-आँख को दृश्येन्द्रिय कहा जाता है। आँख द्वारा देखने का कार्य होता है।
    3. नाक- नाक द्वारा गंध का अनुभव होता है। इसकी घ्राणेन्द्रिय कहा जाता है।
    4. जीभ-इसे स्वादेन्द्रिय कहा जाता है। यह खाद्य पदार्थों के प्रति संवेदनशील होती है।
    5. त्वचा-त्वचा को स्पर्शेन्द्रिय भी कहा जाता है। इसके द्वारा टंडा, गर्म, कटोर, मुलायम, चिकना तथा खुरदरा आदि का पता चलता है।
